Is this crypto link a scam?

Paste a link from a DM, an ad or a "claim your airdrop" post before you click it. We check it against the MetaMask and ScamSniffer phishing lists and look for lookalike tricks. The check runs in your browser: the link you paste is never sent to us.

Building an app or agent? The same data is available as a pay-per-call API: Phishing URL check, 0.005 USDC per call over x402.

Need a different coin or chain? Swap crypto without an account: BTC, ETH, SOL, USDT and 1,000+ more.

How it works

What this tool checks, and how

Private by design

Your browser hashes the domain with SHA-256 and downloads one of 256 list shards that match the first two characters of that hash. Our server never learns which site you checked.

Two big lists

MetaMask's eth-phishing-detect list and ScamSniffer's scam database, refreshed whenever the site is rebuilt. Parent domains are checked too, so a subdomain of a known scam is caught.

Lookalike checks

We compare the domain with the real addresses of popular wallets, DEXs and exchanges to catch typosquats (metamsk.io) and brand-in-subdomain tricks, and flag punycode and lure words like "claim" or "airdrop".

Get warned automatically

GuardSmith Shield checks every site you open against the same lists, locally in your browser. Free, no tracking.

FAQ

Phishing link checker questions

Not financial advice. Automated checks can be wrong; always verify on a block explorer.

How can I tell if a crypto site is fake?
Check the exact domain against the project's official links (its X account, docs or CoinGecko page). Be suspicious of urgency, free claims, wallet "validation" and any request for a seed phrase. Read how to spot crypto phishing sites.
The checker says "not listed". Is the site safe?
Not necessarily. New phishing sites appear every hour and may not be on any list yet. "Not listed" only means nobody has reported it to these lists.
I already connected my wallet to a scam site. What now?
Don't sign anything else. Check and revoke approvals with our approval checker, and if you signed anything you didn't understand, move remaining funds to a fresh wallet. See wallet drainer protection.
Can I get warnings automatically?
Yes. The free GuardSmith Shield browser extension checks every site you open against the same lists, locally, and warns you before you connect a wallet.
